Our History and Purpose

The Virginia Warriors Basketball Organization was formed in 2004 with two boys’ basketball teams and now has grown to over ten teams including girls. The Virginia Warrior’s main purpose is to promote organized athletics on a well-organized basis where good sportsmanship and fair play will be practiced at all times. We believe our organization offers our youth a positive experience with an opportunity to travel outside of their locality.

Our organization is based entirely on donations of businesses and individuals as well as fundraisers. This enables us to buy equipment, uniforms, enter athletic tournaments, and travel to athletic events. Our Board of Directors, Officers and Coaches are all volunteers who donate their time to work with the youth of our community.

Our mission statement for our youth is to be successful in whatever you do. Success, it’s the courage and confidence to begin. It’s the passion and persistence to continue. It’s the talent and tenacity to finish. It’s the roads you choose, the decisions you make, the mountains you move, and the example you set. It’s all these things and more that comprise “success”. And in the end, we don’t just celebrate what you did, but who you are.
